    Tired?

Do you live in the Chambersburg, PA (that's south central Pennsylvania)?

Are you tired of the same old thing; church being repetitive, uninspiring, even *gasp* dare I say it, boring?

Tired of church not relating to the things you go through on a day to day basis? Tired of church that's steeped in Christianese buzz words that have been thrown around so much their meanings are barely recognizable?

Guess what? I'm tired of that too... and coming from a back round of a church just like I described above, my spiritual life took off at breakneck speed when I finally found a church that spoke unapologetically the Word of God using all angles, technologies, and methods. A church that uses every method possible to communicate the news that Christ came and died so that we may live.

If you are tired of the same old and want to be excited about something again...if you want to stop attending and start experiencing... check out the link below!

  • Good Band

So I recently stumbled upon a REALLY REALLY good band. And, to top it all off, they are a "christian band". Not that I only listen to or even desire to only listen to Christian bands - BUT it's nice to know that there are indeed some talented and innovative Christian artists out there...

    Listen to them!!

    Creation Fest 2008 Performance Highlights

    Hi there,
I just got back from Creation 2008 (North East). I am, naturally, burnt to a crisp but I had a really good time. It's been a couple of years since I've been to Creation but it was absolutely just as I had remembered it. The bands were good; lots of energy, great light shows and displays, and even the occasional pyrotechnic. Although I think it was one of the years where I really didn't like many of the bands, I was certainly turned on to a couple through the sheer amount of energy and creativity in their songs. Below I've listed by five favorite performances by those bands from Creation. I've included music videos from Youtube so you can have a quick listen - enjoy and get into these bands!!

These are in descending order, "one" being my favorite act.

    5. Never Alone by Barlowgirl
I'm not normally a Barlowgirl fan, but I was actually down in the crowd for this one, not far from where this is being recorded. This is from the actual performance at creation, the quality isn't the best but it's still OK. They had a GREAT set and I was really impressed

    4. The Sound of Melodies by Leeland
I've actually never heard Leeland before, but I was told that they were pretty good. I was really impressed by this song though. They have a number of great songs, especially from the album this song is from.

    3. Whispers In the Dark by Skillet
I've seen them perform before at a high school in Chambersburg and I was very, very unimpressed. I now realize that it MUST have been the sound reinforcement.. They played the first night and I was trying to avoid this band, I went to the main stage and they were playing and I caught the tail end of their set. They played this song and it along with their LED light show was phenomenal...I wish I could find a video of the actual performance.

    2. Neverending by David Crowder Band
I absolutely love this band - they mix electronic elements into a lot of their music and are very innovative and creative. This song features a Guitar Hero guitar controller that was converted into an MIDI controller...hilarious! Great stuff!!

    1. Luv Addict by Family Force 5
I don't even know how to explain this one. So, I was sitting there at our site at the mainstage thinking some lame family-oriented boy band was going to be playing and WOW...WOW was I mistaken. The "crunk" breakdown in the middle of the song is infectious! By the way, yes, that is the Veggie Tales stars dancing in the background - this video is from the ACTUAL performance. Please, do yourself a favor and get this band's CD. I recommend watching the actual video HERE.

So there you have it, what do you think? Like the songs, hate them? I want to know what YOU think. Comment away and be sure to be at Creation 2009 next year... if you are, let's hang out!

    P.S.

NICE people. I like nice, interesting, people.

Actually, not even nice- I just like people who are reasonable. If you feel a certain way and have a reason that makes sense (whether or not I concur is irrelevant) than I'll like you too. I simply require that you back up your position(s) with arguments that aren't subjective and/or full of fallacies.

But if you are a jerk just because it makes you feel better... than please don't waste my or your time. Thanks!

Oh and I'm going to at a music festival for a week...it's ok to be jealous, I won't be mad at you.
